The Hollis Explorer is a true recreational rebreather, using a single gas - nitrox. Divers benefit from breathing warm gas, extended bottom time and - with greatly-reduced noise from bubbles - see more marine life than ever before.
The unit is neither a fully closed circuit rebreather nor a pure semi-closed system, but an intelligent hybrid that uses electronic control to achieve the best of both worlds. It is compact, lightweight and extremely easy to use.
Geoff holds PADI instructor ratings and has used the Explorer for recreational diving around the world - with extensive experience of how to maximise its true potential. He has even taught and supervised Hollywood actors using the Explorer as a simple tool for their stealthy underwater exploits.
After the sale of the Hollis brand to Huish Outdoors in 2017, the Explorer project was sadly cancelled and the unit is no longer in production. Geoff is a Hollis-trained service technician and continues to have access to Explorers, providing user-level training on request.
